Shawerma Meal

Raining cats and dogs in Amman today that i decided not to go out this afternoon, except for fetching my sister from her work and passing by the bakery shop and the supermarket on the way home. The drive was tiring. Great traffic jam everywhere. Car wipers can't work fast enough for the pouring rain. Two mobile phones ringing at the same time. And to top it all I went out wearing my flat shoes and sweatpants, needless to say my sis was very embarrassed from the way I dressed, but it made me comfortable, and that's all what matters. Yet my fuzzy socks got damp!

The good news is that I managed to prepare home made Shawerma meal in a record time!


Recipe:

4 boiled chicken breasts (diced)

2 onions (chopped finely)
1 leek (chopped)

2 tablespoon sumac
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon mixed spices.

4-5 tablespoon olive oil

3/4 tablespoon salt


Stir onions and leek in oil over heat until pinkish. Add diced chicken breast. Stir over medium heat. Add sumac, spices, pepper and salt. Stir until done.


Spread Mayonnaise (Mazola is the best brand if I might say) over tortilla bread. Add Shawerma, chopped sweet pepper, pickles (any kind you want). Wrap tightly. Grill on sandwich griller until toasted. 


On the side coleslaw with mayonnaise or blue cheese dressing, tomatoes and olives.

Quite a challenge, but the compliments were totally worth it. Yeeey!
